Houston is served by two major airports: George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) and William P. Hobby (HOU). Choosing the right one can save you time, money, and stress.
George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) is Houston's primary international airport, located about 23 miles north of downtown. It has five terminals and serves most major international carriers. IAH is the better choice for international flights, long-haul domestic routes, and if you're traveling to or from the north side of Houston (The Woodlands, Spring, Conroe).
William P. Hobby (HOU) is smaller, closer to downtown (about 7 miles), and primarily serves domestic routes via Southwest Airlines and a few other carriers. It's much easier to navigate with shorter security lines and quicker baggage claim. Hobby is ideal for short-haul domestic flights and if you're staying in downtown, Midtown, or the Medical Center.
Our recommendation: For international travel, fly into IAH. For domestic trips, especially with Southwest, Hobby is hard to beat. Either way, AvaLimo covers both airports with the same premium service — flight tracking included.
